Keno Refresh - March 2010

Here are posters and hanging banners for the most recent Keno refresh that I designed in the past few weeks. The fun thing is that they feature actual winners, and we haven't done that at the Lottery in quite a while. The challenge was to create a fresh look without having the winners look too forced/posed. The great thing is that all five winners left the photoshoot saying "that was fun."

Springtime Ceramics - March 2010

Websites Featuring My Designs

I recently ran across two of the bags that I designed featured in a vendor's "private label" product catalog section when researching information for a project. It was kind of a thrill to see them featured. http://greenbagco.com/products.php
Also, the photographer who worked on the Thanksgiving Raffle sent a link to his website in the "new stuff" section. On it I found my design work that he shot the photos for. It was a very successful collaboration with him. (He is SO great to work with.) http://www.eckelman.com/

Dec. 2009 - Steelhead Habitat Info

These pieces were designed for multiple scholarship events to communicate what Lottery dollars do for the state of Oregon.

Holiday Cards 2009

This year for holiday cards I wanted to create something by hand rather than by computer, so the result is almost purely craft rather than design. I also wanted to incorporate sending an ornament with the card this year. Therefore, I attached a custom-created envelope on each card with an ornament nestled inside (kind of a prize within a prize idea).

The ornament consisted of three scalloped punched circles with the letters "J" "O" "Y." They were joined together with silver hoop rings. I hot-glued a loop of ribbon at the top for the ornament to be hung from.

All of the ornament envelopes that were attached to the card were sealed with a sparkling red snowflake and blue rhinestone.

Nov. 2009 - Turn Up The Heat

This is a black & white/color logo that I designed for a retailer promotion at the Oregon Lottery. The focus is for retailers to accomplish a certain checklist of tasks in order to be entered into a drawing to win a BBQ prize pack, thus the name "Turn Up the Heat."

This is a background that is used on multiple printed pieces.

This is a label design for a BBQ Rub that is in the prize pack.

I created this flame illustration for stickers that will be used on a tracking poster.

This is the bag that the prize pack will be delivered in.

OR Lottery - Thanksgiving Raffle 2009

Outdoor boards that I designed for the Oregon Lottery Thanksgiving Raffle. After the sell-out of the tickets, a "sold out" snipe was placed on the board. It was intended to look as if the sign had been ripped and tagged with graffiti.

Point of purchase posters I designed for the Raffle. Characters were pulled from the hip-hop-themed tv ad. The intent of the posters (especially the square poster) were to look similar to a hip-hop cd cover. The posters were two-sided to be switched after the sell-out of the tickets. The "sold out" messaging was meant to look as if the poster was tagged with graffiti.

I had the opportunity to design the set-up of the winning ticket announcement in the lobby of the Lottery building. We had the fortune, as we did for the St. Patrick's Day Raffle, to have Andy Carson and his team televise the announcement live on KPTV-FOX12.
